On Sunday, October 11, the world’s elite outrigger canoe paddlers take on one of the most demanding challenges in ocean racing: the legendary crossing of the Kaiwi Channel.
From the shores of Molokaʻi to the finish line in Waikīkī, Oʻahu, the Molokaʻi Hoe World Championship brings together the strength, strategy, endurance, and teamwork that define this iconic race.
Rooted in Hawaiian culture and tradition, the Molokaʻi Hoe is more than a competition. It is a celebration of the ocean, the paddlers, and the spirit of ʻohana.
Since 1952, this championship has carried generations of paddlers across the channel, honoring a legacy built on courage, commitment, and the deep connection between people and the sea.
The channel is waiting. The crews are ready. The race is on.
